Our Story - Strela Travel
Strela Travel began in 2011, when Andreas arrived in Tarrafal and turned his home, Casa Strela, into a small guesthouse. Around the same time, he was among the first to offer professional tours on Santiago and Fogo Islands. From the start, the goal was to strengthen regional business and promote sustainable tourism that benefits both visitors and local communities.
Casa Strela grew with a small team — many of whom are still part of the Strela family today — and over time expanded into Strela Travel, now including five accommodations, two restaurants, Strela Tours, and transfer services. More than 35 local families benefit directly, creating jobs and opportunities.
Today, Strela Travel continues to promote eco-cultural tourism, connecting visitors with Cabo Verde’s landscapes, traditions, and communities while supporting local livelihoods.

Media & Community Impact
From local stories to project updates, this is where we share what matters most to us. As part of our commitment to eco-cultural tourism, the Strela Family actively supports initiatives that make a real difference in Tarrafal and beyond — like building a lifeguard chair to promote beach safety, planting trees to create greener school spaces, and helping renovate classrooms in the Txom Bom school.
